Owner and Instructor WV ISR

Hi there! I’m Bria McKown, or as many of my students like to call me, Miss B! Since 2020, I’ve had the privilege of teaching Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) lessons and helping kids become confident, competent swimmers. As the first ISR instructor in the state of West Virginia, I’m  deeply passionate about bringing water safety to my home community of Morgantown and beyond, one little swimmer at a time.

My ISR journey began like many others: as a mom. I was on a mission to find swim lessons for my kids—Meric, then 18 months old, and Maizy, just 3 months old. Through my search, I came across Infant Swimming Resource and became very intrigued. I NEEDED these lessons for my babies. But when I discovered there wasn’t an ISR instructor within an hour and a half of us, I decided to dive in myself (quite literally). A few months later, and I was on my way to Fort Myers, Florida to train to become an ISR instructor. I turned my passion for protecting my kids into a calling to protect children across our beautiful state of West Virginia.

Since then, I’ve taught over 450 little ones, giving them the skills they need to safely enjoy the water while empowering parents with peace of mind. Whether it’s watching a baby master a float for the first time or seeing a shy toddler blossom into a confident swimmer, there’s nothing more rewarding than sharing these life-saving skills. ISR instructors around the world live by the motto “Not One More Child Drowns,” and I’m proud to help make that mission a reality.

When I’m not in the pool, you’ll find me chasing after my three kids—Meric, Maizy, and our youngest little water baby, Moxx—along with my husband Chad and our sweet rescue pittie, Indi. Our family loves to travel, and, no surprise, we spend most of our free time around the water! Teaching my own kids the importance of water safety has truly been life-changing.

If you’re ready to help your child gain life-saving skills and confidence in the water, let’s make it happen together!

MISS CAIL

Hi! I'm Caileigh but, you can call me Miss Cail. I am a former competitive swimmer, life guard, & summer league swim coach.

When I'm not in the pool, I work at the hospital helping new babies into the world. Because of my past aquatic history, I couldn't think of a more fitting or soul fulfilling career than one where I can spend my days in the water helping make the littles of our community safer in water.

I want nothing more than for your babies to be safe & confident while having fun in the water & helping bring you- the parents some peace of mind while doing so.

If I'm not turning little people into fish you can usually find me with my husband Michael + our 2 dogs. I love nothing more than spending time with our families & friends. You will also never catch me turning down any opportunity to travel that may present itself my way, especially if a concert is involved.

I look forward to meeting & getting to know you!

MISS LINDSEY

Hi! I’m Lindsey Werner, an ISR Instructor, serving Harrison County and surrounding areas!

I was raised in Lewis County, the heart of WV.  Currently reside in Bridgeport, WV with my husband who is in the Air Force and our 2 children, Kimber and Bently. Kimber was an ISR student in 2021 and our family quickly became a huge advocate of the ISR Program after watching her go through the entire process and maintaining her skills.

I became an ISR Instructor in 2022 after Bria, encouraged me to take the next step towards joining WV ISR, and for that I am so thankful!

I have a BA in Exercise Science from West Virginia Wesleyan College and am a certified Radiology Technologist.

Outside of the water I spend most of my time coaching all-star cheerleading, running to and from my children’s’ activities, and spending time with family and friends. I love working with children and creating new relationships with my swim families.

It is my passion to provide families with the best in water training, drowning prevention, and child safety skills in or near the water.

MISS TORI

Hi! I’m Tori. I am from Scott Depot, WV and my daughter just completed the 6 week ISR program this fall. As a mom, I’ve discovered the amazing capacity young children have to learn and adapt to situations as they grow and the confidence it can give you as a parent. I am excited to bring this vital survival resource to other parents and children in our area.

Here is a little bit about me!

I am from Winfield and graduated from Marshall University in 2018 with a Marketing Degree. My husband and I have been married for 5 years and have a beautiful 1 year old daughter. Oh, and can’t forget our two dogs, Duke and Kolby. I previously worked in financial services and most recently supported a federal law enforcement agency in an administrative capacity.

Looking forward to this next step getting your family safer around water.
